This attractive reproduction of a vintage natural history print depicts a bird-eating spider of the genus Avicularia.

The original art was from Charles D'Orbigny's Dictionnaire Universel d’Histoire Naturelle (1849 edition). The artist was Blanchard. This tarantula was labeled Mygale avicularia, which is known today as Avicularia avicularia.
