Still in the Works
I think this summer will be focusing on putting books together rather than trying to churn them out. While overall sales have actually pushed up a bit this month (so far), books tend to do a bit better in the Fall heading toward Christmas. Did note a little jump in sales for the Great Auk book in the UK this month. Not sure if that is just a topic of more interest in the UK, or if there was some word-of-mouth or whatnot that sparked the interest. Current projects: still finishing up the Champ Conference book, working on getting the final photos for Eight-Legged Marvels: Beauty and Design in the World of Spiders, and kicking around the idea of recoloring a terrific old newspaper comic, Madge, The Magician's Daughter, that Craig Heinselman pointed out to me.
Direct Sales
Well, I'm just about ready to try it again. I'm thinking about going with just Ebay listings, but might consider doing direct sales through my website with Paypal also, though that would require stocking more books. I have to take care of a few details, but might try out a few Ebay sales listings on some extra books laying around within a couple weeks. If they do OK, then I'll go ahead and order more for direct sales, maybe do some pairings (both volumes of the orbweavers books, the two sea monster books, etc.). I suppose I could also offer some small bulk lots (five books or so at a time) if there was any interest, for resale... if anyone is interested in that sort of thing, contact me direct...
