Sea Monsters UnmaskedOrder through Amazon Henry Lee |
Henry Lee's short work is one of the earliest analyses of sea monsters and sea serpents from a biological perspective. Published in 1883 in conjunction with the International Fisheries Exhibition in London, Henry Lee treats the subject seriously and with enthusiasm.
Lee was open to the possibility of large unknown marine animals, but felt that many, if not most, could be explained as sightings of rarely encountered giant squids of the deep ocean. This is a non-facsimile reprint. The text includes numerous black-and-white illustrations. |
